5.9. Performing Spatial Analysis

It is often desirable that the language data mapped on geographic locations can be readily analyzed, explored, and the relationships among different data sets understood. On this website, this feature is investigated only to a very little extent.

In Fusion Tables the grouping of different colored dots easily provides an indication how the initial consonant of who is pronounced in different regions. The distribution of dots and the corresponding pronunciation is not random but areas where such dots are grouped together indicate that people in a particular region use the same pronunciation.

The above feature is also observed in the map which was created using LL-MAP. In addition, this map can readily show the names of different locations as a separate layer.
