5 Social network analysis software

In their article, Clark and Trousdale name three software packages which can be used to visualize the results of a social network analysis. The results are visualized by means of a sociogram, a graphic representation of a person’s social links. GRADAP, UCINET and STRUCTURE are programs that can create such sociograms. If using one of these software packages, however, it has to be kept in mind that it is necessary to first store the gathered information in a data matrix (case-by-case or aggregate matrix) so that the program can work with the information (cf. Clark and Trousdale, Chapter 2).
