5.2. Cost and Licensing

Many mapping tools for commercial and professional purposes are not free of cost. However, many of them provide a fixed time evaluation license. For example, the ESRI Production mapping tool offers a 60 days evaluation period for using the tool free of cost, while ArcGIS offers a 30 days trail period. However, difficulties were faced in activating the evaluation version for ArcGIS.

Like many other Google services, Fusion Tables is also free of cost. All one needs is a Google account and one can readily start using the tool. LL-MAP is also a free tool which allows users to create accounts free of cost and start creating maps.
