Previous Next

In fieldwork, interviewing is the standard way for gathering data and the art of conducting an interview is something that can only be mastered through experience. The following part will give advice on how to structure and prepare an interview, how to talk during an interview, where to conduct an interview and strategies to tap into the vernacular. But the most important rule is to always stay natural and to be observant (cf. Tagliamonte 2006: 45).
