「Joint Doctoral Conference 2025」

About the Conference

The Seventh Joint Doctoral Conference invites early-career and senior researchers in sociology and social research to engage in a vibrant academic exchange. This annual conference provides PhD students with a platform to present their work, receive constructive feedback from senior scholars, and participate in thought-provoking discussions with peers.

Originally founded as a collaboration between the Universities of Bamberg, Milan, Pompeu Fabra, Tilburg, and Trento, the conference continues to foster academic dialogue among young researchers. The 2025 edition will be hosted by the University of Bamberg and organized by the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS).

As in previous years, the conference is open not only to PhD students from partner universities but also to participants from other institutions. We welcome submissions from PhD students across different institutions who engage in theoretically driven empirical social research. The conference is an excellent opportunity to share your research, expand your academic network, and contribute to the development of sociology and social research.
