WebCorp is a tool which was developed by the Research and Development Unit for English Studies at the University of Central England in Birmingham. This unit consists of linguists, software engineers and statisticians. They created WebCorp to help linguists search the Web. It thus offers advanced search options especially tailored to this purpose that allow the user to specify the search, including the output format.
WebCorp is, however, not a search engine in itself, but has to rely on commercial search engines to retrieve results. What WebCorp does is limit the thousands of results to those considered relevant and provide the user with a suitable output format and additional information.
