tagger

tagger – a software program which inserts particular tags to words or structures in a corpus (cf. Meyer 2002: 86) and usually refers to POS-tagging. An example of a tagger is CLAWS (Constituent-Likelihood Automatic Word Tagging System), a program developed at the University of Lancaster, which was employed to tag the British National Corpus (BNC) (cf. McEnery, Xiao and Tono 2006: 34).
