precision rate

Parent Previous Next

precision rate - the extent to which illegitimate readings are discarded from the output (cf. Garside 1997: 121), or a measure of how large a proportion of hits actually consists of the target item (cf. Lindquist 2009: 44), counted as the number of relevant tokens retrieved by a query divided by the total number of retrieved tokens. Along with the recall rate, the precision rate is used to estimate the accuracy of automated tagging (cf. Baker 2006: 133) and of corpus queries.
