WI-Project System Developoment

Overview

Based on elementary principles of system development projects, a fictional requirement specification sheet is provided by the “client”. On this basis, the participants carry out all phases of a system development project in self-organized teams. Methods and tools for project planning, modeling, software development and quality assurance are introduced and used. Regular feedback rounds and presentations of interim results take place during development. The project ends with the “delivery” and presentation of a software product for each team.

The aim of the course is to impart the following knowledge and skills:

    • Knowledge of the structure and content of system development projects
    • Experience in the implementation of a small system development project
    • Basic understanding of the problems of system development
    • Motivation for in-depth study of methodological and practical system development issues

    • Experience of group dynamic effects

    • Working with web technologies and database applications

    • Conducting efficient software development

Instructions

The following prerequisites are recommended for the course:

  • Introduction to Business Information Systems (ISM-EidWI-B)
  • Development of Enterprise Application Systems (IIS-EBAS-B)
  • Coding Skills from Introduction to algorithms, programming and software (DSG-EiAPS-B) or Introduction to Informatics (Inf-Einf-B)
  • Data Management Systems (MOBI-DBS-B)
