Short biography

Andreas Weiland studied social sciences and sociology/empirical social research at the University of Cologne with a stay abroad at the University of Utrecht. From 2017 to 2023, he worked at the University of Mannheim at the Chair of Macrosociology, Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) and at the Collaborative Research Centre 884 ‘The Political Economy of Reforms’. In 2024, he completed his doctorate on ‘Couples’ careers and women's financial security in later life' at the University of Mannheim. He has been employed at the Chair of Sociology, in particular Family and Work, since February 2023 and has been working on the Wealth-Age project since May 2023.
