Position for student assistant in CEAT
At the Chair for Fundamentals of Natural Language Processing of the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg, we are looking for a
student assistant (studentische Hilfskraft) (m/w/d)
to support research in the project CEAT on contextualized emotion analysis in short stories.
Recent research in our group has focused on prompting large language models (such as Llama and GPT) to generate short stories designed for contextualized emotion analysis. We also analyze the text data using automatic methods (for instance, through zero-shot prompting with LLMs) as well as through human annotation studies.
Your role will involve supporting our research in one of the following areas (some experience in just one area is sufficient):
- Emotion analysis in text.
- Identification of narrative patterns in short stories.
- Computational analysis of text datasets.
- Managing a crowdsourced human annotation study.
- Implementing and enhancing techniques for parameter-efficient fine-tuning of large language models (such as LoRA) specifically for contextual emotion analysis.
- Exploring the psychological aspects of emotions in short stories by analyzing them through the lens of appraisal dimensions.
Languages: English; some data might also be in German.
