Brief Biography
Dr. Juan Carlos Peña graduated his Bachelor's Degree in Business Science with focus on International Trade and Financial Accounting at the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador. Then, he studied at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg the master program Economics where he received his degree in April 2016. He wrote his Master Thesis about the topic „Dollarization in Ecuador: Performance, Problems and Alternatives". In 2021 Juan Carlos Peña completed his PhD at the Professorship of Prof. Dr. Christian Proaño with the topic „Essays on Inequality, Economic Growth and Political Polarization“ within the graduate programme PK 045 of the Hans-Böckler Foundation. Since January 2023 he works for the "Bundesnetzagentur" and is lecturer at the Professorship for Macroeconomics and International Finance, Prof. Dr. Christian Proaño.
