There can be different reasons for credit recognition, each with a different procedure. The Examining Board makes decisions regarding credit recognition following a preparatory review conducted by the subject advisory service. According to the amount of credits recognised, credit recognition can lead to being placed in a higher semester of study in that programme.

For that reason, please always get in touch with the relevant subject advisor first of all. If possible, please also send proof of the relevant credits as well as an overview of the credits you have earned to date within the master’s degree programme in Historical Geography and any open examination registrations with the relevant module the examination is assigned to (e.g. FlexNow data sheet). 

Recognition of credit from prior studies at another university

Please contact the relevant subject advisor for credit recognition. Be sure to include proof of completed study and examination components for credits obtained externally and the applicable module guide. This should show the assessment type for each of the module’s examination components and the thematic focus of the relevant modules.

 Recognition of credit from prior studies at within the University of Bamberg

An internal change within the University of Bamberg means changing your degree programme. Please contact the relevant subject advisor for credit recognition and include an up-to-date FlexNow data sheet and a list of all your open examination registrations stating the relevant module and the processing status.

Recognition of credit earned abroad

Study and examination components completed abroad can be recognised if they have equivalent requirements to those at the University of Bamberg in terms of course content and examination requirements. Further possibilities for recognition – internships, distribution electives, language courses, courses at the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern

  • Before completing an internship, please get into contact with the subject advisory service and establish whether it is possible to have it recognised as you wish.
  • Modules that are completed as part of the distribution elective component are done so in accordance with the requirements of the degree programme that offers them. It is not necessary to have these modules recognised separately. However, please note that only complete modules can be credited in the distribution elective component – individual classes are not sufficient.
  • If you wish to complete language courses, summer and winter schools or courses with the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern, it may be possible to have credits recognised through the elective module component of the Historical Geography programme. Please always establish if recognition is possible before enrolling in a course. For the credit recognition itself, please contact the relevant subject advisor after completing the course and attach the corresponding proof of completed study and examination components.

Wenden Sie sich zur Anrechnung an die Fachstudienberatung. Schicken Sie die Leistungsnachweise der auswärtigen Leistungen sowie das dafür geltende Modulhandbuch mit. Es sollte die Prüfungsform der jeweiligen Modulprüfungen und die inhaltliche Ausrichtung der betreffenden Module erkennbar sein.

Ein interner Wechsel innerhalb der Universität Bamberg meint einen Wechsel des Studiengangs. Wenden Sie sich zur Anrechnung an die Fachstudienberatung und schicken Sie ein aktuelles FlexNow-Datenblatt sowie eine Aufstellung offener Prüfungsanmeldungen mit Modulangabe und Bearbeitungsstand mit.

Studien- und Prüfungsleistungen, die im Ausland erbracht wurden, können angerechnet werden, wenn sie nach Inhalt und Prüfungsanforderungen mit den Anforderungen an der Universität Bamberg gleichwertig sind.   • Nehmen Sie vor Belegung eines Praktikums Kontakt mit der Fachstudienberatung auf und klären Sie, ob eine Anerkennung wie von Ihnen beabsichtigt vorgesehen ist.
  • Die Belegung von Modulen im Rahmen des Erweiterungsbereichs erfolgt nach den Vorgaben des anbietenden Studiengangs. Eine gesonderte Anerkennung dieser Leistungen muss nicht erfolgen. Beachten Sie jedoch, dass im Erweiterungsbereich nur vollständige Module gerechnet werden können und einzelne Lehrveranstaltungen nicht ausreichen.
  • Sollten Sie Sprachkurse, Sommer- und Winterschulen oder Kurse über die Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern belegen wollen, bietet sich ggf. eine Anrechnung über die Erweiterungsmodule der Historischen Geographie an. Klären Sie eine mögliche Anrechnung immer vor Belegung eines Kurses. Für die Anerkennung selbst wenden Sie sich nach Abschluss des Kurses an die Fachstudienberatung und schicken den jeweiligen Leistungsnachweis mit.
