Set up WLAN on Android with the easyroam app (eduroam)
Notes:
To access the wireless network of the University of Bamberg, you must have a valid user account (BA number + password).
Members of other universities or research institutions that participate in eduroam (DFN roaming) can also use the eduroam network at the University of Bamberg. If the login does not work, please contact your home institution for information on the specifics of using eduroam.
These instructions are for Android systems from version 10, if you have an older Android device, please use the DFN instructions:
You must use the easyroam app to obtain a stable and secure connection to the WLAN with the SSID eduroam.

Download the easyroam app from the Google Play Store and install it.
Figure 1 shows the QR code that leads directly to the installation of the easyroam app in the Playstore.

Once you have opened the app, enter Bamberg in the search field and select the University of Bamberg.
Figure 2 shows the search screen completed and with the University of Bamberg selected.

In the next step, enter your BA number and the corresponding password for the Shibboleth login.
Read and accept the declaration of consent on the next page. Read the data protection information and click on Transfer information.

Now tap on Install new profile on the start page of the easyroam app. Confirm the pop-up window for creating the profile and allow the suggested WLAN from easyroam.
Once the profile has been set up, you can close the app.
Figure 4 shows the start page of the easyroam app with the Install profile button.
Note:
If you are not automatically connected to the eduroam WLAN, switch off your WLAN and switch it on again immediately. You should then be connected automatically.
