Set up a student e-mail account in Apple Mail under macOS (M365 e-mail system)
Important notes:
To be able to integrate an e-mail account, you must have a valid user account (BA number + corresponding password).
We only recommend using the Mail app, as the Notes app often does not work satisfactorily with the account. You should therefore uncheck this box.
Adding an e-mail account
Start Apple Mail and then go to the Mail menu and select Add account... .
Select Exchange as the account type and click Continue.
Please fill in the window that now appears as follows:
Name: Your first and last name
E-mail address: Your university e-mail address
Then click on Log in.
Figure 1 shows the input mask with the example e-mail address entered.
Another Microsoft Exchange window will then appear Sign in to your Exchange account via Microsoft? Continue here with Sign in.
After a short moment, a new window will open with the Shibboleth login screen. Enter your BA number and the corresponding password here and click on Login.
In the last step, you will be asked which programs you would like to use with this e-mail account. Finally, click on the Done button.
