Nico Hirschlein, M.Sc.
About the Person
Nico Hirschlein has been a research assistant at the Chair of Business Informatics, in particular Industrial Information Systems, at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg since August 2021. He previously completed his Bachelor's degree in International Information Systems Management and his Master's degree in Information Systems here. During his studies, Mr. Hirschlein spent a semester abroad at the University of Basel in Switzerland. Mr. Hirschlein gained practical experience at Brose Fahrzeugteile SE & Co. KG as a working student in agile project management. He also worked at Brose IT as a master's student in the BI team and wrote his master's thesis on the possibilities of realizing business value through big data analytics.
In his role as a project member in the project “Developing digital cultures of teaching”, Mr. Hirschlein develops concepts for the implementation of digital and smart quizzes as additional offers for the modules of the Chair of Industrial Information Systems. The implementation of smart quizzes will entail the utilisation of gamification methodologies and the deployment of data analytics techniques for the automated assessment of the quizzes.
Research Interests
Nico Hirschlein's research interests are in the area of agile and data-driven organizations. His research focuses on investigating how business value can be realized through Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and what implications this has for a data-driven transformation process. Additionally, his research aims to explore the extent to which agile management can support and accelerate a data-driven transformation process.
