Jan-Niklas Meckenstock, M.Sc.

About the Person

Jan-Niklas Meckenstock has been a research assistant at the Chair of Business Informatics, especially Industrial Information Systems, at Otto Friedrich University Bamberg since October 2020. He previously completed his Bachelor's and Master's degree in International Information Systems Management at this institution and also studied at the University of Georgia in Athens, USA. During his academic career, he was employed as an assistant at the Chair and also worked at the Chair of Business Administration, in particular International Management. In his bachelor's and master's theses, he addressed the topic of business added value, various advantages and potential barriers when using agile software development methods. Additionally, he gained professional experience at companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and SAP SE.

Research Interests

Jan-Niklas Meckenstock's research interests focus on exploring the implications of agile project management in software development, as well as investigating the management of highly flexible, agile business processes within organizations.  His research interests within the field of agile software development are primarily focused on the business value that can be achieved through the implementation of agile methods within organisations, the potential limitations of such approaches, and the impact of agile practices on individuals.
