Early career researchers can apply for temporary support through StayTuned funding to hire a student assistant. The assistant fund is intended to help researchers navigate challenging phases and prevent the so-called "leaky pipeline." StayTuned aims to provide temporary relief, especially for early career researchers facing periods of significant strain due to personal circumstances or unexpected challenges in their research projects.

StayTuned provides financial support to early career researchers at the University of Bamberg for hiring a student assistant. This support aims to alleviate burdens during unexpectedly challenging life situations. The student assistant is expected to carry out tasks related to the researcher’s academic qualification. Researchers can apply for up to €1,000. Reapplication is possible. Given the limited number of hours available, we recommend increasing the hours of a student assistant already employed at the department.
