The Non-professorial Academic Staff Council

What is the council and what does it do?

The council represents the group of non-professorial academic and artistic staff and doctoral candidates.

It has the right to nominate or appoint representatives of the non-professorial academic and artistic staff and doctoral candidates in the Central Administrative Institutions, in the committees, in the Central Study Grant Committee and in the Committee for Conflict Resolution in Academic Workplaces.

The Non-professorial Academic Staff Council’s purpose is to provide relevant information, form opinions and coordinate the activities of the representatives of the group of non-professorial academic staff in the administrative committees, which are listed in more detail below.
 

Who are the council’s members?

The Non-Professorial Academic Staff Council includes the respective representatives of the group of non-professorial academic and artistic staff and doctoral candidates in the following administrative committees:
Senate and the Faculty Committees,

  • Standing Committee on Teaching and Students
  • Standing Committee on Research and Early-career Scholars,
  • University Library Board of Advisors,
  • Academic Advisory Council as well as in the General Assembly of the Centre for Teacher Training (ZLB),
  • Central Study Grant Committee,
  • the conflict representatives appointed by the University Executive Board from among the group of persons principally employed as non-professorial academic and artistic staff in the Committee for Conflict Resolution in Academic Workplaces,
  • the representatives of the lecturers in the administrative committees of the Language Centre,
  • a representative appointed from among the women's representatives of the university and the faculties, insofar as this representative belongs to the group of non-professorial academic and artistic staff and doctoral candidates, and
  • the first deputy representatives from the group of non-professorial academic and artistic staff members who were elected in the elections for the Senate and faculty committees.

How can I find current information?

You will receive information on topics which are particularly relevant for all members of the Non-professorial Academic Staff Council via an email distribution list edited by the Personnel Department. All non-professorial academic staff members are included automatically in the list.
For current information, especially for new staff members at the University of Bamberg, please visit the Service-ABC of the University of Bamberg (only accessible via the university intranet).
Furthermore, there are regular council meetings and talks with the University Executive Board (see dates).
