Students from the University of Bamberg win Valuation OLYMPIAD in London
On 26th October 2018 a team consisting of Andreas Bauer and Christoph Willecke (both University of Bamberg) as well as their teammates Louis Vandepoele (University of Mannheim) and Kevin Wenzel (University of Innsbruck), won the 7th Valuation OLYMPIAD, organized by Global Banking Training. In a multi-level competition the team of Bamberg prevailed against more than 1.300 teams worldwide. Ten international teams of globally leading universities participated in the final, where the young talent M&A consultants around Andreas Bauer and Christoph Willecke were convincing the jury with their analysis and valuation of Whole Foods as a possible acquisition target for Amazon.
„This is a remarkable success for our Finance & Accounting students in Bamberg“, said Prof. Matthias Muck, holder of the chair of Banking and Financial Control, and added: „The members of the winning team have clearly proved that they do not only have a sound academic training. In addition, they are able to apply it successfully to practical questions.“
The Chair of Banking and Financial Control warmly congratulates on this success.
