Whether it's ChatGPT, AI filters in social media or fitness trackers - artificial intelligence and data science are permeating more and more areas of social life. The new Bachelor's degree programme in AI & Data Science at the University of Bamberg is the right choice for anyone who not only wants to have a say, but also really wants to understand the technical and mathematical background. The interdisciplinary degree programme combines AI as a branch of computer science with statistical and mathematical methods as well as applications in the social sciences and humanities. Students can choose between three specialisations during the course of their studies:
- Data Science: in-depth study of mathematical and statistical techniques, enabling a seamless transition to the existing Master's degree programme in Survey Statistics at the University of Bamberg.
- General AI: Intensive study of techniques for the construction of hybrid intelligent agents, which optimally prepares students for a transition to the Master's degree programme in Applied Computer Science with a specialisation in AI at the University of Bamberg.
- Information Systems: The focus on application-oriented tasks and questions from business AI practice prepares students for a further Master's degree programme in Information Systems at the University of Bamberg.
In addition to the core and profile studies, the degree programme teaches important skills in the field of ethics in AI as well as seminars and projects with a practical, methodological or theoretical focus. After completing the programme, you will be optimally prepared for a successful career start or further studies.
