Research
The University of Bamberg is one of the leading locations for studying sociology in Germany. With 16 chairs and professorships, it covers a broad spectrum of social science topics on one hand, and on the other hand sets very specific priorities in forward-looking areas such as education, migration and labor market research. Other central topics of Bamberg sociology include important issues of social development such as globalization and population development.
Studies
Characteristic for Sociology studies in Bamberg is not only its forward-looking thematic orientation but also an excellent study program. The "Bamberg Model" includes comprehensive training in sociological theory and methodology. Targeted specialization enables the in-depth exploration of specific content. The study plan is further enhanced by research internships. As a result, graduates of Bamberger Sociology leave the university equipped with outstanding tools for the job market.
